Bomb proof windows... we do that too!

First ever order via social media came this week from a bomb blast window protection company who recently visited us at Corby. The need for a clip fit arrangement was outlined as it will anchor in place a protective film capable of withstanding 28,000-PSI impact. In this case it is to be used on a major corporations HQ a prime target for local insurgents. It will in time be used anywhere from EmbassyÂ’s to McDonalds.
Alan and Sam from Shapes in-house die creation team refined the clip fit to make it effective, accessible and secure whilst still being easy to remove. We then worked with Polyplas in Stourbridge to create an effective gasket to seal against the film, and prototyped it off tool.
We will produce the dies, extrude machine and anodise in the next few weeks, and given that 90% of all bomb blast injuries are glass related, we are truly making the world a safer place.
