Battery Charger
A battery charger is a special device used to charge or input an electrical current into a battery or to recharge it into a usable state. There are many types of battery chargers all with their own specific applications. Some chargers are used to charge small batteries like the everyday torch and mobile phone batteries, while other chargers are much larger pieces of equipment and are capable of charging large batteries such as the ones found in cars or industrial equipment. The technology of the charger depends on the capacity of the battery being charged, and varies greatly in the electronics involved; some batteries require a trickle charge while others require a fast charge, the latter having a cooling fan installed to keep the temperature of the cells under control. The most sophisticated kinds of chargers are universal battery chargers which incorporate an intelligent charging system which can be programmed to perform intricate charging stages, these too can analyse the state of the battery, though these are mainly used in military and aviation applications where battery condition is paramount.
