Window shutters are window coverings, consisting of horizontal rails, vertical stiles, or slats constructed within a frame. Window shutters can be of the louver type, which can be opened or closed, or window shutters can be of the fixed type i.e.: the rails, stiles or slats are fixed within the frame, and have no operability. Window shutters are used for various reasons such as, to protect against weather or weathering, to control sunlight, or just for decorative purposes.
