Rubber Flat Roofing
Flat Rubber Roofing or membrane roofing is a type of roofing used on flat and nearly flat roofs to prevent leaks and move water from the roof. Membrane roofs are most commonly made from synthetic rubber, modified bitumen and thermoplastic material such as PVC. They are generally installed on commercial buildings, although they are becoming increasingly popular on residential buildings. Synthetic rubber is made of large flat pieces of synthetic rubber or similar material which is welded together at the seams to form one long join. Modified bitumen is an evolution of asphalt roofing and this system uses either heat to weld the joints together or cold applied adhesive. Thermoplastic roofing is similar to rubber roofing material but the seams which overlap are bonded with heat or solvents which when joined can be as strong as the rest of the membrane.
