Large CNC m
achining
operates by computer numerical control. Large CNC machining is used to shape
components/objects out of solid materials, and various types of metal. Large CNC
machining is done by, the vertical CNC milling machine. Available for manual
operation. Most large CNC milling machines are of the vertical type, and the
computer controls the three axis X axis Y axis and the Y axis. These CNC milling
machines have a good range of uses such as surfaces of relief sculptures. The
more advanced CNC milling machines have 5 axis, and horizontal CNC milling
machines also have a C or Q axis, allowing the work piece to be rotated. However
the use of a 5 axis CNC milling machine can produce extremely complicated
geometries and the programming is beyond most operators. 5 axis CNC milling
machines are normally always programmed with CAM. Typical tooling applications
for large CNC machining include work for the aerospace industry, automotive,
marine and aeronautical industries, as these industries require the machining of
large parts.
