The best known application of laboratory automation is laboratory robotics, but the scope of laboratory automation is comprised of many different laboratory devices to increase the efficiency and effectiveness research in laboratories. Laboratories devoted to combinatorial chemistry and high throughput screening, automated clinical and analytical testing and many others, would not exist without advancements in laboratory automation.
