GEFCO WINS THREE AWARDS AT THE SIXTH AUTOMOTIVE GLOBAL AWARDS

GEFCO were the proud recipients of three prestigious accolades at this yearÂ’s Automotive Global Awards including the Corporation of the Year Award, Vehicle Processing Centre Award and GEFCO UKÂ’s Commercial Director was also awarded the Leader Award.

Corporation of the Year Award

The judges commented that: “Automotive logistics is at the core of GEFCO’s expertise. The company has been cultivating this expertise for more than 65 years.

In 2016, GEFCO signed major agreements with Renault Nissan, Audi, Toyota, BMW, Talgo and PSA Group. Its commitment to adding value at each stage of its customer’s supply chain led to a €4.2 billion turnover, representing an increase of 1.3% compared to the same period in 2015.”

Vehicle Processing Centre Award

GEFCO faced tough competition but GEFCOÂ’s exclusivity agreement to manage and optimise PSAÂ’s global manufacturing supply chain showcased GEFCOÂ’s ability to manage complex work on a large scale.

The judges commended GEFCOÂ’s achievement through employing skilled, experienced fitters and by the implementation of specialist, built-to-task workshops. Their investment in technology and equipment have ensured that their team can manage complexity and deliver best in class service for its growing client base.

Leaders Award

The Leaders Awards are presented to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their field and have grasped the wider concepts of the industry and have brought significant innovation to their company.

The Judges commended: “John Stocker’s significant impact for GEFCO UK since he joined in 2012. From his commitment to recognising and developing hard-working and talented people within the organisation, through to his innovative and holistic approach to providing solutions for customers, John’s influence and direction has quickly generated a series of important strategic developments and strong results, both internally and for GEFCO UK’s network of partners and top tier customers.”

On receiving the award John added: “I've been really lucky to have worked with tremendous people over the course of my career. I can only hope that in my position as a leader I can help the wonderful young people in our company to become the leaders of tomorrow.”

GEFCO was one of 20 companies and individuals rewarded for having achieved the unachievable or for having pioneered a new way of thinking or working.

These awards are about celebrating innovation and growth across the automotive industry by encouraging and developing individuals through the creativity of ideas, adaptation and flexibility, through planning and pioneering new ways, new thoughts and new ideas.
