ND Precision Products Invests in New Machines and Inspection Equipment

As part of our ongoing dedication to excellence and innovation, we are excited to announce our recent investments into new machines and inspection equipment, which are already proving to be great additions to our plant list.
Our latest purchases include:
1. Keyence XM-5000 – A handheld probe coordinate measuring machine, the Keyence XM-5000 is a high accuracy, adaptable solution for inspecting components of varying sizes. It uses a tracking camera that captures near-infrared light emitted by the seven markers on the handheld probe to take measurements with a high accuracy. Furthermore, the portability of the measuring head will allow for more accurate in-machine measurement, enabling us to ensure parts are within tolerance before moving them off the machine. There is a small probe camera which can capture images of the component being measured, which means that the results are displayed in real-time on the captured image and clear, easy to understand inspection reports can be generated. This feature is also beneficial for repeatability when measuring multiples of a part, as the program saved from measuring the first part will then guide the user for where to measure the other parts. We are sure that this new device will become an integral piece of inspection equipment, ensuring that every part we produce meets the highest standards of quality and precision.
2. Starrett HB400 – This horizontal optical comparator has been a great upgrade of an older profile projector. The 50kg workstage load capacity means that most parts can be inspected if required using this shadowgraph.
3. Sodi-Tech UH650L – This high speed machining centre has hard milling capability and can achieve a mirror finish on various hard metals. The UH650L is equipped with linear motor technology that means high accuracy parts are achievable. The linear motors combined with the linear scales with five-place decimal input and feedback, results in unsurpassed speed and accuracy with almost zero backlash. This leads to a machine tool that can handle the most complex, three-dimensional contours exceptionally well. With a 40,000 RPM spindle speed and BLUM tool measurement technology, it allows us to produce parts with exceptional precision, even in tight tolerances. The addition of this machine to our fleet will enable us to handle complex and intricate machining tasks with unmatched speed and consistency.
4. Sodi-Tech ALC600G – This premium wire electrical discharge machine (WEDM) sets the bar high for surface finish and form accuracy. With a surface finish capability of 0.1Ra and form accuracy within 2µm, the ALC600G ensures that we can produce components that require the highest levels of detail and precision. The machine’s linear motor technology, combined with the ability to program directly from 3D models, enhances our operational efficiency and enables us to take on even the most intricate projects with confidence.
