The tube ends can have expanded sweat/solder sockets added to suit the US/Canada/Central and South America where Imperial OD pipe is used or in the UK and the EU the pipe is Metric OD.

If you are using tube to AS 1432 (The Australasian Copper Tube Spec) this is a little more tricky, but adapters are possible.
