Electric Blankets

Electric blankets are blankets which have an integrated electrical heating device and generally put on the top bed sheet, and appearance wise look very familiar to an ordinary everyday blanket. Electric blankets will typically have a control device/unit which is used to adjust the amount of heat the blanket produces. Electric blankets are available in both single bed and double bed sizes, and the larger blankets very often have separate controls for each side of the bed. Electric blankets can be used to keep the occupant warm while in bed or to pre-heat the bed before use. Most modern electric blankets use carbon fibre wires, and this allows them to work on 24 volts instead of 110/240 volts, and are therefore considered to be more efficient and safer to use. Another variation of the electric blanket is an electric mattress or pad, which is placed below the bottom sheet.
