Backlit displays cover various presentations. A
backlit display could be a simple frame incorporating some form of illumination
that shines through the presented image or media. Backlit displays can also be
large displays with an illuminated back drop, such as a shop front window or
museum exhibit. White translucent panels hide fluorescent tubes that make an eye
catching display enticing customers to take a closer look. Spot lights can be
added that point towards the display giving an even more appealing presentation.
In recent times an increase in LED availability and performance has seen many
backlit displays move from fluorescent tubes to more efficient LED types. Light
boxes for photography and x-rays can also be classed as a backlit display.
