SCHURTER is pilot company for repetitive testing

SCHURTER Ltd News and PR from SCHURTER Ltd - Published 20 April 2021 Around 1500 people from seven companies volunteered to take part in preventive, repetitive COVID-19 testing as part of a pilot project.
The Canton of Lucerne has been conducting repetitive tests with around 1500 people in seven companies for three weeks now. The experiences of this pilot operation will then be evaluated and the necessary optimisations will be made before regular operation starts as soon as possible. SCHURTER AG has made itself available as a pilot company for these tests.

Pooled PCR tests
The tests are carried out once a week with the aim of having as many of the people present as possible undergo the tests voluntarily. PCR saliva tests are used, which are pooled into groups of five in the laboratory and analysed. If the analysis shows that the pooled saliva sample is positive, the entire group is tested again by means of an individual PCR test in order to identify the person with the infection.

Voluntary
The cooperation of SCHURTER employees is of course voluntary. Nevertheless, almost two thirds of all employees working at the headquarters have declared their willingness to actively help with this test offensive to prevent the virus and to protect their own colleagues.

Early detection of local outbreaks
The Federal Council has decided to expand the testing strategy to further combat the COVID pandemic. Local outbreaks are to be detected early through intensified prevention.
The cooperation of SCHURTER employees is of course voluntary
