Dischromatics Announces Formation of New Record Label Dischromedia.

Dischromatics Limited News and PR from Dischromatics Limited - Published 26 August 2013 Dischromedia will be launched at the end of August and was formed in collaboration with Dischromatics and well known Composers/Musicians Dan and Laura Curtis as two of the Directors.
Dischromatics has for some time envisaged creating a record label but lacked sufficient knowledge of the music industry to actually take the first step. That problem has now been resolved with the setting up of Dischromedia in association with Dan and Laura Curtis who are well known in the world of music and the theatre. They are probably best known for writing “A Miners Song” in memory of fallen miners with over 300 performers including Matthew Rhys, Aled Jones, Michael Sheen, Joe Calzaghe, Jonathan Pryce, Paul Potts and the voice of the late Richard Burton. Having taken a piano underground at the Big Pit in South Wales they achieved National coverage.

Dischromedia will have many advantages for future signings and will not just be a record label; a key element will be promotion and distribution. Furthermore, with Directors Gareth and Stewart Spencer who are a major part of the management team of Dischromatics who are a Sony DADC UK partner and can manufacture the CD’s and DVD’s. Additionally, the group of companies includes Dischro Creative who has already made an enviable name for themselves in the world of video production. There is nothing like this in the UK, together these facilities will be the most comprehensive service to prospective signings that exist under one management group.

The new company will work with Shabby Road Studios in Caerphilly South Wales and the phenomenally talented Al Steele who can boast to playing any instrument he is presented with. There are already a number of projects in the pipeline including recordings with new and well-known artists along with the filming of live shows to be released on DVD. Soon they will be accepting demo discs from prospective acts which will need to include a short bio and a video of a previous work. Naturally it’s early days but the amount of interest and support already received indicates a very busy period ahead.

The first release under the Dischromedia label will be of Ramin Karimloo performing three songs, the main song and title track is “Why Am I Falling” written by our very own Dan and Laura Curtis for the Your Voice Musical Theatre competition as part of this year’s Children In Need Appeal. The video was produced by Dischro Creative and a teaser can be seen on YouTube, so the collaboration between enterprises has already begun. The synergy between all parties and all companies within the group is huge and will benefit all parties concerned.

The logo has now been selected and will depict the industry, shortly a website will be built to help to fully establish the brand and explain the full extent of the services on offer along with other useful data. However, this will be done in two stages; the first will be a simpler site whilst a fully comprehensive and appropriate website is being built. The interest generated in the short time since the word got round of Dischromedia has been tremendous and bodes well for the future for everyone associated with this new enterprise.
