Easing Your Joints

Have you ever gone to site to install a borehole pump and found that you had insufficient crimps to join the power cable or had forgotten to pack the mastic to seal the joined cable?

Proquip Direct have introduced a range of complete packaged cable joint kits to banish such problems for ever : each kit contains four heat-shrink cable crimps, a 1.5m roll of sealing mastic and 400mm length of adhesive-lined heat-shrink tubing together with emery cloth, electro-wipes and a ruler. Comprehensive step-by-step instructions include a cable-cutting diagram and detail procedural changes necessary where the motor has individual tails.

Four different kits are available with components to suit 1.5 to 2.5mm2, 4 to 6mm2, 10 to 16mm2 or 25mm2 cables – which should cover the majority of conventional borehole pump applications.

To complete the joint a only a few common tools will be required ( sharp knife, wire cutters, crimping tool and heat gun ) ………. unfortunately these can’t be included in every kit so you will have to remember to take these with you !
