The Little Gym: Behind The Scenes with APSS

The Little Gym is the worldÂ’s premier enrichment and physical development center for children aged 4 months through to 12 years. Their programs offer children a springboard to 'LifeÂ’s Adventures' by using movement-based learning and imaginative play to help build the confidence and skills needed at each stage of childhood.

The Little Gym environment is fun, but the purpose is serious, embracing a proprietary philosophy called Three-Dimensional Learning, in which physical activity is a conduit for nurturing the child. The Three-Dimensional Learning approach to skill development means that every class offered fosters growth in three holistic dimensions—Brain Boost!, Get Moving! and Citizen Kid!

Robin Wes opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington and infused even those early classes with the same positive, non-competitive spirit that characterises The Little Gym today. An innovative educator, musician, and kinesiologist, Robin envisioned a nurturing place where children could explore their physical development, while also growing socially, emotionally and intellectually.

Forty years later, children in more than 300 locations worldwide experience the Serious Fun of The Little Gym.

So far, APSS has successfully converted five Little Gym franchises, and we are currently looking at several more potential sites for the near future. We are often involved very early on when the franchisees are looking at potential sites, and we are asked to carry out feasibility studies for them, along with a full costing to create the desired space.
