Gemco launches Somers lifting range

Garage equipment specialists GEMCO have recently announced the launch of a range of vehicle lifts under the Somers brand, which is now available to purchase from the company and its network of distributors.

The range includes mobile columns, fixed lifts and associated accessories, including axle stands and transmission jacks. GEMCO, which had brand exclusivity over the Somers name from 1st July 2016, exhibited a selection of Somers cabled and Bluetooth mobile column lifts and associated equipment at BirminghamÂ’s NEC, at the Commercial Vehicle Show in April.

The portfolio also includes the newly launched Somers Vega range of parallelogram lifts which are available with a choice of lifting capacities (12/18/24/34 tonnes) and platform lengths of up to 9m.

These electro-hydraulically operated lifts are available for indoor use (powder coated platforms) and also for external installations (fully galvanised- including control box). The galvanised models are particularly suitable for vehicle wash-bay applications, says GEMCO, which has recently completed such an installation for Welsh Water in Ponthir (See install gallery here).

Commenting on the launch of the Somers range, GEMCO chief executive officer Wayne Thomas said that the brand: “fits in perfectly with our current product portfolio, and will offer our customers even more choice.”

GEMCO will also continue to supply the AutopStenhoj range of Maxi commercial lifts, which are available with platforms of up to 9m and in a choice of capacities up to 24 tonnes.
