Elmac Technologies Launch New EVB End-Of-Line Flame Arrester Range

Elmac Technologies, the world class manufacturer and distributer of flame arresters and low pressure venting equipment, continue the expansion of their flame arrester range with the EVB Series end of line arresters, suitable for use with gases in explosion groups up to and including IIB3.

"Following the technical success of our recently introduced EVA Series of arresters, our new product development team has further developed that element technology to a point where we can now offer similar performace characteristics in a unit which is suitable for use with explosion groups up to and including IIB3," commented Elmac Technologies Operations Director, Peter Evans, "and this has resulted in the creation of our new end-of-line flame arrester design series: the EVB's."

In a manner similar to how the EVA flame arrester was designed, the Elmac development team used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques to design and optimise the enhanced crimped ribbon flame-arresting element for the EVB series which delivers market-leading performance for high flow capacities with minimal pressure drop.

"By designing and developing new flame arresters from scientific principles, rather than trial and error, we are able to bring new flame arrester products to market much faster than we ever have before," continued Peter Evans. "Our customers are always asking for improved device performance and the quicker we can get there, the happier they are."

As well as improving the flow characteristics of the EVB over the previous FE-EXH model, the Elmac development team also expanded the material options, connection types, and nominal bore size range (now up to 600mm) of the series.
