Champagne Saucer Rise in Popularity

HG Stephenson Ltd News and PR from HG Stephenson Ltd - Published 18 September 2012 We’ve seen a huge revival in demand for Champagne Saucer glasses, reporting a 454% increase in sales, selling approximately 1,722 units in 2011 when compared to 311 units in 2009.
Champagne Saucer glasses or Coupe glasses are manufactured using the original glass moulds used in the 1930s Manhattan Cocktail scene. The tall stem contrasts with the wide bowl giving them a solid, open appearance. The glasses were the original Champagne glass and remained popular for the first half of the 20th century until they were overtaken by the flute Champagne glass.
We have noticed this style of glassware has been especially popular with cocktail bars and restaurants who are moving away from the popular Flute Champagne glass; these venues seem to be following the retro trend, creating an art deco feel to their establishment, using glassware reminiscent of the 1930Â’s.

To complement this vintage trend, we have recently taken stock of Steelites new range of glassware called Minners. The range consists of four differently shaped glasses, designed to recapture and complement the classic cocktails.
