Ready mixed concrete or concrete that is
manufactured at a batching plant
or
factory. This is made to a set recipe, and then delivered to the
workplace/worksite. Truck mounted transit mixers are used for transportation.
This results in ready mixed concretes which have a precise mixture, and this
helps achieve speciality concretes to be developed and used on the construction
sites. The first ready mixed concrete factory was built sometime in the 1930s,
however the industry did not begin to grow until the 1960s, and it has expanded
significantly since then. Ready mixed concretes, can be quite often preferred to
on site mixing of concrete, as this reduces worksite confusion and produce more
precise mixtures. Today ready mixed concretes are made under computer controlled
operations, and delivered to the worksite using sophisticated equipment methods.
