Flight Cases
Flight
cases are boxes which are specially built to ensure the protection of sensitive
equipment such as cameras and musical instruments. The use of flight cases
reduces the risk of damage, when equipment is moved around between different
locations, or when thrown around by airport baggage personnel. Flight cases can
be custom built to a single individual needs, or a large number of different
size flight cases can be made to meet the needs of an entire touring production
company. Most flight cases are manufactured with three layers, a laminate outer
layer, a middle layer, and an internal shock absorbing layer such as
polyethylene foam. The foam interiors of the flight cases can be further
customized by forming moulds of the transported items for a perfect fit, thus
minimizing any undesirable movement of the items. Typical uses for flight cases
are cameras, video recording equipment and other such sensitive equipment.
