Analysis

Image analysers or Image analysis refers to the extraction of meaningful and detailed information from images. Image analysis is carried out using mainly digital images and digital image processing techniques. Image analysis tasks can be as sophisticated as identifying a persons face to the more simple reading of a bar code. Computers are indispensable to image analysis as they can process large amounts of data for tasks that need very complex computation. The human visual cortex is another excellent image analysis apparatus, and human analysts cannot be replaced by complex computers. Many image analysis tools like neural networks and edge detectors are inspired by the human visual perception models.
