RPC
produces an extensive range of plastic packaging made by all three main
conversion processes – blow moulding, injection moulding and
thermoforming. It is able to offer such specialisation thanks to its
autonomous structure, where individual factories or small groups of
factories are wholly responsible for their own operations.
Such an approach means that these factories have become specialists
in their particular technologies and are able to offer in-depth
knowledge and understanding of the specific end markets that they
serve. This enables them to respond quickly to changing market
requirements and successfully interpret and develop solutions to
meet customer briefs.
Equally important, the RPC structure allows the company to service a
comprehensive range of customers from the largest multi-national
manufacturers of consumer products to smaller national businesses.
RPC’s expertise and
specialisation is demonstrated by the number of key markets where
the company can demonstrate particularly strong or market-leading
positions. These include beauty and personal care plastic packaging, food and drink
packaging products,
paint and surface coatings, industrial containers, vending and
drinking cups, and multi-layer sheet.
This market leadership is reflected in the number of major new
product developments with which RPC has been involved over the
years. The company has played a significant role in the development
of plastic crème jars and airless dispensers for the personal care
market. In the food and drink sector recent notable successes have
included the introduction of coffee and hot drink capsules, and the
creation of barrier packs offering extended shelf life for a variety
of food products. In the surface coatings market, RPC’s Paintainer
has been the packaging of choice for leading paint brands for many
years.
As well as its wide choice of standard containers and closures, RPC
also offers customers the opportunity to produce their own bespoke
designs to help establish and maintain brand image and awareness,
and to ensure maximum on-shelf impact and appeal. RPC has a team of
highly experienced in-house designers who are able to create a
design from scratch in line with customer requirements or work with
a customer’s nominated external designer, so that the finished packs
combine attractiveness with practicality and efficiency in
manufacture.
RPC is committed to developing
and supplying products that help its customers meet their
environmental objectives and the demands of their customers and of
regulators. The company also acknowledges its responsibilities as a
manufacturing concern to continue to reduce the environmental impact
of its factories and manufacturing processes. The RPC Sustainability
Matters programme provides regular updates on its latest initiatives
in these areas as well as factual reliable information on the
environmental impact and benefits of plastics packaging.
Rigid plastic packaging already makes a significant contribution to
sustainability in the supply of both food and non-food products.
Working with its customers, the major retailers, and government,
recycling and research organisations, RPC aims to achieve even more
and continue to improve the environmental performance of both its
packs and the products that use them. |
