Premier Restorers was founded in
2005 by Raven Macbeth who has had a lifelong passion for wood, furniture and
furniture repair. After living in the US for some 15 years, he came back to the
UK and noticed that the furniture repair and furniture restoration business here
was sadly lacking in certain areas, mainly due to the fact that most of the
companies out there are franchise organisations who have rigidly defined
boundaries of what they will and won’t do.

With 20 years experience of furniture repair and furniture restoration, Raven’s
aim was simple. To provide an independent and flexible service towards
professional furniture repair and furniture restoration service available to
everyone at a fair price. The result is Premier Restorers.
Our Primary services are geared towards the repair of wood and leather furniture
including repairing or replacing fittings and hardware, however, Premier
Restorers have also
successfully undertaken repairs to such things as architectural woodwork, church
doors ,ceramics and decorative resin mouldings. Premier Restorers has a
tradition of taking on the more unusual and challenging furniture repairs that
the franchises won’t touch. Using time honoured techniques and integrating them
with modern methods we have the ability meet our client’s needs on every level.
Premier Restorer’s leather services cover the full range of repairs to leather
settees, Chesterfield’s, armchairs and recliners with the majority of work being
done on site. Repairing splits tears and burns to the leather or fabric and re
padding seat cushions and replacing lost cushion buttons. We can also re-colour
faded leather to restore its original condition and remove stains or odours. In
addition we can replace broken or missing trims, decorative mouldings, casters
and legs. Internal repairs are also possible, for example, repairing broken
frames and supports including strengthening internal parts to prevent further
damage. We can repair, adjust or replace recliner mechanisms and folding bed
mechanisms as needed. Premier restorers can replace broken or missing springs,
undercloths, webbing and strapping.

Our wood services cover many types of furniture repair such
as, re-finishing damaged surfaces on
dining tables, drawers, wardrobes, bookcases, chairs and desks. We can remove
cracks, scratches or dents and offer a complete staining service including
French polishing, waxing and varnishing. We rebuild broken furniture as well as
full furniture restoration projects. Commercial furniture builds are also
available designed to client’s personal requirements, from a single chair to an
entire suite. Replacement knobs and handles can be custom made in our workshop
as well as hardware and ironmongery. In addition we also build individual pieces
to customer’s personal specifications including such things as odd sized or
decorative picture frames and mirror surrounds.
Premier Restorers provides a comprehensive commercial furniture repair and
furniture restoration service to all types of business. We undertake furniture
repair contracts for insurance companies providing national coverage at local
prices. We guarantee a fast turnaround for clients and provide damage recovery
service for furniture restoration from flood and fire damage. We undertake
furniture repair and furniture restoration projects on a large scale such as
pubs, clubs, restaurants, shops, cinemas and theatres All work can be scheduled
around client’s requirements, for example, providing an out of hours service to
avoid disrupting business. Drawing on our experience of independent insurance
assessment we can advise clients on the feasibility of furniture repair or
furniture restoration against replacement for new. As part of this consultation
service, Premier Restorers can assist in sourcing difficult to find replacement
items of furniture as well as building new pieces to the exact specifications of
the originals when there is no other way to replace the item.
We also undertake furniture repair and furniture restoration projects for
commercial landlords and owners of holiday cottages etc. With a strong focus on
the client’s need for maintaining a certain ‘look’ for their properties and
balancing that with minimal time for furniture repairs to be carried out, we are
able to maintain a comprehensive furniture repair programme that will take care
of any accidental damage, breakages or moving damage as and when it should
occur.
We also have an ancillary service that we run in parallel with our main
furniture repair and furniture restoration business, namely the repair and
restoration of vehicle interiors covering many different finishes such as
leather, vinyl, fabric, velour or combinations of finishes as well as restoring
dash panels and steering wheels etc. We undertake everything from a single seat
repair, all the way up to maintaining entire fleets.
We believe there’s no greater compliment than to be asked for by name so we’re
very proud of our record in this area. We’ve had main dealers such as Lexus in
Sheffield and Renault in Mansfield ask for us specifically to undertake the
repair or restoration of the interiors of some of their pre owned vehicles as
well as sprucing up the furniture in their showrooms. These are not people who
will allow just anyone to work on their vehicles considering they have an
average price tag in the order of £20,000.
Premier Restorers may use traditional methods of furniture repair and furniture
restoration but we are a young, energetic company always looking to the future.
We believe the way forward is by constantly monitoring our client’s needs
thereby anticipating future changes in the field of furniture repair and
furniture restoration. This makes us ready to adapt to new challenges and
ensures we’re always there for our clients at every level.
