In forward curved centrifugal fans, the air is drawn in from the side inlet and changes direction as it is forced out of the top exhaust via its scroll housing. Due to their compact design, forward curved fans are the ideal solution for either pressurising or evacuating air in confined spaces such as furnaces, fan coil units, HVAC or combustion systems. This type of fan is integrated into a combustion system for the purpose of intake air. Forward curved centrifugal fans such as our GRE and GRF range are commonly referred to as centrifugal blower fans. The blower fan works as the oxygen source inside a combustion system enabling a fast-burning process reaching maximum temperatures. Integrating the correct fan will guarantee a complete, effective combustion cycle and ultimately ensures system efficiency.
For optimal fan selection it is essential to establish the following criteria:
- Dimensional limits
- Volume flow rate and pressure
requirements
- Ambient conditions
- Sound levels
- Electrical supply and tolerances
Please note system resistance to airflow can be difficult to estimate therefore if you need assistance our team can help. A sample may be required in some applications to determine suitability. In response to your specific needs the airflow, power, rotational speeds, noise level, software, overall dimensions and finish of the fans can be specifically defined according to individual project requirements. Lead times and minimum order quantities do apply but where performance is an influence of this criteria this is always the best option.
AC Ecofit fans and motors prove a more suitable solution where a stable and more durable supply is required such as railway, heat recovery, marine, military and other specialist applications. Ecofit motors are manufactured with a class F insulation system. Single phase AC motors are thermally protected either by the winding impedance or by an auto-resetting thermal cut-out.
Ecofit AC motors are speed controllable by voltage variation but where electronic controllers are used, they must be designed for electric motor duty and be compatible with ECOFIT products.
Ecofit EC fans and motors have a lower power consumption providing better efficiency and low motor temperatures resulting in a longer life span.
