Investing in process - improving quality!

Total Board Solutions News and PR from Total Board Solutions - Published 11 May 2021 The board design process is a well established one that culminates in the creation of data to fabricate the PCB.
During this process the CAD tool will run many checks on the design data to ensure that both the electrical and manufacturing track and gap rules are meet; however, it is not the CAD data that is used to manufacture the PCB, it is one of the many formats that each of the CAD systems generates such as Gerber-274X, Gerber-X2, ODB++ or IPC-2581.

The ability to check this data prior to releasing to manufacturing is an important step in reducing the overall design cycle-time and thus getting the prototypes back for testing or ensuring that the production release runs smoothly.

TBS are pleased to announce that we have recently invested in the new software with the capability to carry out DFM checks directly on fabrication data directly prior to release using the fabrication rules. The results are feed back into the CAD system ensuring that the data is ready-to-go once sent out to the fabricator!
