THE CHALLENGE
Icelandair is the flag carrier airline of Iceland, with head-quarters at KeflavĂ­k International Airport near the capital city Reykjavik. Icelandair has an ever expanding cargo handling facility at Keflavik airport.

Within the facility, the existing cargo handling system was outdated and operators where having continual H&S issues with the manual movement and processing of cargo.

Air Tech Innovations was approached to provide a solution which not only removed the H&S issues, but also meant that the cargo handling operation would work more efficiently.

The SOLUTION
The project was split into 2main phases (1) Implementation of new castor decks to improve cargo handling (2) Additional castor decks and other associated equipment to allow expansion of the cargo handling capabilities. This also included the introduction of an additional 4 temperature controlled cargo storage rooms.

As a manufacturer and system integrator, the Air Tech Innovations solution consisted of a full turnkey project including all MHE hardware, together with all required installation and integration to the DHL supplied equipment and systems.

THE RESULTS
The project was fully project managed by Air Tech Innovations, which extends to on-site supervision and management of the installation through to completion and handover.
