Opus Energy Limited News and PR from Opus Energy Limited - Published 21 February 2013 B2B energy supplier, Opus Energy, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Industrial & Commercial (I&C) Most Innovative Consultancy category at this year’s Energy Live Consultancy Awards.
Business-to-business energy supplier, Opus Energy, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Industrial & Commercial (I&C) Most Innovative Consultancy category at this yearÂ’s Energy Live Consultancy Awards.

The awards, launched this year, aim to recognise the work done by consultants and set a standard for best practice. The entry criteria are challenging and entrants will be judged by an independent panel of experts. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 27th June.

The I&C Most Innovative Consultancy category, sponsored by Opus Energy, recognises consultants which strive to benefit their customers by implementing new ideas.

Opus Energy prides itself on delivering corporate / I&C customers with market-leading and innovative products, developed to meet their needs. The company chose to sponsor this category as recognition of the crucial role that consultants play in the energy market.

Steve James, Director – Corporate Solutions, Opus Energy, said: “We wanted to be part of the Energy Live Consultancy Awards in order to pay tribute to the hard work of consultants. They are a key part of the energy industry, as they help to facilitate innovation in an ever changing market.”

The launch of Opus EnergyÂ’s internet-based buying tool - Opus Evolution - exemplifies the role consultants play in driving market innovation as it was developed following feedback from consultants. The flexible energy purchasing product enabled I&C customers with non half-hourly metered sites to access the wholesale market directly for the first time. Within a year of its launch, 3,000 customers had signed to Opus Evolution.

Opus Energy attributes the growth of its corporate sales, which stands at over 56,000 sites, to the steady increase in customers signing up to Opus Evolution. This was strengthened by the launch of new product functionality last year - ‘Fix/Unfix’ - which allows customers to sell their already purchased power back to Opus Energy. This new functionality was also developed following feedback from consultants.

Steve James concluded: “Opus Energy would also like to extend its thanks to the Energy Live team, who are bringing more attention to the energy industry – both internally and externally – through relevant and topical news articles. We are delighted to be able to partner with them and congratulate them for launching these awards.”
