Growth plans are afoot for Torus Group with the introduction of Torus Automation

Established last year, Torus Automation, currently based at Torus' second site in Telford UK was primarily created to provide machine enclosures & structures internally for Torus' Measurement Systems. The company now provides design and assembly services for a wide range of machine structures, machine enclosures, environmental solutions, modular construction, conveying and loading systems and work stations. These products are now supplied both internally for use in our own range of automated inspection products and externally to customers in need of modular and cost effective machine building solutions.

Due to the continuing success of Torus Measurement Systems and the early achievement of Torus Automation, the head office site is set to expand by adding a second building. This purpose built 10,000 sq ft facility will be located adjacent to the current head office and will accommodate Torus Automation and an additional machine workshop with the latest CNC Machining centres for internal manufacture of complex machine parts. The new site is expected to be fully operational by early Summer 2018 and will also feature state-of-the-art conference facilities and a Solidworks™ CAD design centre.

Michael Parry, Torus Technology Group Managing Director said regarding the expansion to site:

Our Automation Systems business compliments’ our existing Measurement Systems business perfectly and developing the new facility adjacent to our existing main site, and introducing new manufacturing capability, will enable us to combine the organisations to maximize throughput and enhance joint product development activity” .
