PASS, the UKÂ’s leading supplier of thermal cameras and accessories, has been recognised by FLIR as a Platinum Partner for their expertise and knowledge of thermography for the third year running.

“Around a decade ago, not many people knew about thermography,” said David Atkins, Sales Manager and Certified Level 1 Infrared Thermographer at PASS. “It’s a constantly growing market and to cater for this, we’ve worked closely with FLIR for years to offer the kind of expertise that customers need to learn more about thermography and thermal cameras.

“We’re delighted that FLIR has decided to give us Platinum Partner status for three straight years now; we’re constantly working to give our customers everything they need, and the FLIR product range has constantly proven popular with our customer base. Being awarded this status means we can continue to work extremely closely with FLIR and offer the latest products and assistance to a wide range of professionals across the world.”

The FLIR Platinum Partner status is only awarded to companies who have performed to high standards and supply customers with a large amount of FLIR equipment. PASS offers a large range of different thermal cameras across their entire website network, including from their specialist thermal website - www.pass-thermal.co.uk

Operating out of Stockton-On-Tees in North East England, PASS has been a distributor for FLIR since 2006. In that time, PASS has expanded their FLIR inventory to cater for a wider range of applications, offering thermal cameras for wildlife tracking, law enforcement, automated process monitoring and more.

The list of applications for thermal cameras is almost endless; they can be used for everything from detecting errors with electrical distribution board components to detecting heat loss from poor insulation in buildings.

“We’ve seen a real boom in people using thermal cameras for different work in recent years.” said David, “Building cameras in particular are always growing in popularity, as are cameras for general use. FLIR’s new technology means that the cameras are much more available and affordable to individuals than they have been previously, which has led to more people using FLIR cameras.”

The popularity of thermal imaging cameras has also led to a rise in demand for training services, something which PASS offers to camera users to help grow their abilities.

PASS trains both beginner and experienced thermal camera users in how to operate the equipment. Candidates can learn the basic of thermography, practical uses and gain full accreditations such as Level 1 Thermography (ISO18436 PCN).

Candidates are shown examples of thermal imaging cameras during the training, including FLIR products such as the E series.

In the future, PASS will continue to work closely with FLIR to offer the newest thermal imaging cameras, product innovations and knowledge to those interested in thermography.
