Towards the end of last year, we organised an incentive trip to the Dubai Grand Prix. This got us thinking, Dubai has so much to offer for a corporate incentive event, that we thought weÂ’d share it with you. Here is our guide to DubaiÂ…

Interesting Facts

Dubai is an emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) federation. It is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and has the largest population in the UAE. Dubai is more commonly known today for its extravagant skyline, state of the art construction and is a business hub for the Middle East.

Over 80% of DubaiÂ’s population are ex-pats so there is a very cosmopolitan feel to the place. It is also one of the safest places in the world, with crime rate at virtually zero.

Recommended Hotels

The Le Meridien Mina Seyahi is a great hotel and one we would recommend if staying in Dubai. The hotel was recently refurbished and re-opened in 2013. It is located on the beach with some fantastic views over-looking the palm from the sea view bedrooms. The hotel itself is small enough to feel intimate and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

The Westin Mina Seyahi is another hotel we highly recommend. This hotel is the sister hotel to the Le Meridien but is much larger. The hotel has a stunning lobby, with great views and a superb swimming pool. As the two hotels are part of the same group, you are free to use both facilities regardless of which hotel you are staying in.

Activities

As you could imagine, there is plenty to see and do in Dubai. Aside from the F1 grand prix, on our recent trip to Dubai, we also took part in the popular activity of Dune Bashing. It is an absolute must when visiting, and is a great way to experience the desert. As an add on, you can combine the dune bashing with a ‘sunset stop’ where you can arrange to have carpets and tents set up to watch the sunset whilst enjoying crudities and sparkling grape juice in the middle of the desert. Why not, make the experience all the more special with belly dancers and a falcon show, also available as an extra to the dune bashing package.

Dubai is home to the worldÂ’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. It gives you the ideal platform to see some spectacular views of the whole of Dubai. The viewing platform is located on the 124th floor (there are more than 160 floors in total) and has an outdoor and indoor viewing area, so if you have a fear of heights, you should be fine.

Another great activity we highly recommend is a catamaran cruise around the Palm. The weather in Dubai is lovely all year round, and cruising around on the catamaran is the perfect way to soak up the sun and take in the breath taking views of the iconic skyline.

Take in some of the famous landmarks whilst swimming in the clear blues waters, or just relax and unwind whilst enjoying the sunshine on deck. A great experience and one you should definitely consider if considering Dubai for your next incentive.
A 7 hour flight from London, year round sunshine and plenty to see and do makes Dubai a superb destination
