New products and Dementia Care Home proves popular at the Care Show Birmingham

Gainsborough Specialist Bathing News and PR from Gainsborough Specialist Bathing - Published 17 December 2013 Gainsborough Specialist Bathing, part of the Care in Bathing Group, has received a significant rise in interest regarding its bathing and transfer solutions at The Care Show (Bham NEC, 12–13 Nov)
The Gainsborough showcase consisted of two features at the event - a selection of its leading baths on Stand F10 and inclusion of the WRAS approved, Ascot variable height bath in the Dementia Care Home. Designed by BPA Architecture in association with Stirling University's Dementia Services Development Centre, the Dementia Care Home showcased the latest in innovative solutions to assist individuals living with cognitive impairments. The home simulation encompassed an Ascot bath that was selected for this feature due to its compact footprint and exceptional performance levels.

Liz Fuggle, BPA Architecture Associate commented: "We were impressed with the smooth and quiet function of the Ascot bath and we felt it was simple for carers to operate."

In addition to the Dementia exhibit, Gainsborough's stand showcased the Ascot, Lincoln and Windsor 3 assisted baths along side its M180 mobile hoist and M200 Stand-aid hoist. The Ascot is a variable height bath with powered seat transfer and has been designed to deliver the highest levels of performance, comfort, safety and ergonomics. The Windsor is a versatile assisted bathing system with extra depth and the versatile Lincoln incorporates a changing table and bathing/showering platform. These specialist baths were accompanied by examples from Gainsborough's new Glide range of mobile hoists. The lightweight yet robust aluminium M180 was demonstrated to high numbers of visitors who expressed an interest in this compact solution. The versatile M200 was also popular and has been ergonomically designed to facilitate standing, seated transfers and assisted toileting for patients with some weight-bearing ability.
