| SuDS & FRA |
SuDS stands for Sustainable Drainage solutions and is now a mandatory
requirement in England, Scotland and Wales for most new developments. SuDS use a
combination of techniques like green roofs, soakaways permeable paving,
infiltration basins, ponds and swales to manage surface water close to its
source.
FRA stands for Flood Risk Assessments, FRA's are a crucial step in the planning
process. Whilst being similar to SuDS, it remains a separate requirement. FRA
evaluates the proposed development site for risks of flooding and identifies
measures to mitigate or manage the risk.
| Arboricultural |
Arboriculture surveys play a vital role in the context of UK development
projects. Almost all developments, including urban areas, are influenced or
occupied by trees. An Arboriculture survey is designed to protect certain tree
species near or within the development site. The survey is also used to protect
new structures from any potential root damage.
| Coal Mining Risk Assessment |
For any developments located within historical coal mining areas like Yorkshire,
Lancashire, extensive areas of the Midlands, Scotland and South Wales, coal
mining risk assessments are essential for the planning application process.
Possible risks include ground stability / subsidence issues, possible untreated
or unknown historical mineshafts, mine gas emissions and mine entries.

fauna and flora, national ecological surveys are crucial. Ecology surveys help

| Soakaway & Percolation / Infiltration Testing |
This test is a vital procedure for assessing the rate at which water can
infiltrate the soil, it is common request when it comes to planning permission.
For informed decision making it is essential to understand a sites percolation
