Diamond edge polishers are machines that produce a highly polished surface on the edge of thermoplastic sheets. Diamond edge polishers can achieve this process in just one operation. Diamond edge polishers use a cutter hub with diamond tooling fitted. The hub is mounted onto a spindle with variable speeds that rotates anywhere within 12000 to 20000 rpm. On both sides of the cutter hub are feed tracks and these accurately guide the desired material across the cutter. A belt system moves the material at about 1 metre per minute and makes allowances for various thicknesses of material. Diamond edge polishers are usually floor mounted and can accommodate varying thicknesses of material. Extraction units are available to deal with unwanted plastic sward that diamond edge polishers produce, and are often available as separate standalone units.
