Energy efficient air compressors are key to the success of Mattei
Compressors, a Mattei rotary vane air compressor is designed to
offer the lowest total cost of ownership by providing the maximum
amount of compressed air for the minimum of amount of energy
consumed. It also offers lower servicing costs due to; utilising a
high quality synthetic oil and the air compressor having enhanced
oil separation, which in turn provides for extended service
intervals and the additional benefit, unlike screw compressors, that
the Mattei rotary vane air compressor technology does not require a
planned and expensive change of air end bearings. Instead of roller
bearings a Mattei rotary vane air compressor utilises white metal
bearings, which do not require any special maintenance and can last
the lifetime of the compressor. The vanes do not wear out and the
compressed air output never decreases which is why the air end on
most Mattei air compressor comes with a 10 year unlimited hours
warranty for total peace of mind.

As part of its drive to improve the energy efficiency of compressed
air systems, Mattei offers two ranges of highly energy efficient air
compressors. The OPTIMA range of variable speed drive compressors is
designed to adjust its output according to the user’s actual
requirement for compressed air; this is ideal where the demand
varies considerably. Some users however have a fairly constant
demand and this is where the highly energy efficient MAXIMA fixed
single speed air compressor comes into its own, providing unrivalled
specific energy efficiency from as low as 5.4kW/m³/min for
compressed air users with a constant compressed air demand. For
compressed air users with a constant base-load demand with a
variable requirement on top then a combination of the OPTIMA and
MAXIMA air compressors offers the ideal solution for the ultimate in
energy efficient compressed air delivery.
To further improve the energy efficiency in compressed air systems,
Mattei also provides a compressed air leakage detection and repair
service. When you consider that an average compressed air system can
waste 30% of the compressed air produced (Carbon Trust figures),
which means almost a third of the energy used by air compressors is
wasted. In turn this means over a period of ten years, a full 3
years of the air compressors usage is simply returning the air to
where it came from and you are paying for the privilege of doing
this.
