We specialize in producing an exciting range of award winning Hand-made Puddings, Pies and Cakes, Quiches, Hand Raised and Multi-portion Meat and Vegetarian Pies for Hotels, Restaurants & Delicatessens. Made from the finest ingredients only, sourced from West Country suppliers where possible.

Okemoor was founded in 1989 by Jeffery & Lisa, who previously had looked for a supplier of genuine hand made West Country food when they owned a hotel in Boscastle.  They couldn't find what they wanted and later set up this business to supply establishments which required and appreciated the destinctiveness of hand made food. In 2001 the baton was passed to Lynda & Ray who have embraced the ideas and methods to maintain the virtues of good wholesome West Country hand made food.

We see phrases "hand made" and "quality food" used frequently. Without comment on others, what this means in our case is that when the orders are received from our customers:

The local butcher delivers the meat we need.

The meat mixes are cooked for the multiportion pies and the hand raised pies meat prepared.

The oranges and lemons are squeezed for the juice in the cakes and tarts, apples peeled and slice and fresh vegetables prepared - all by hand.

The pastry is made for the tarts, pies and quiches and the cake mixes prepared.

Where possible, we source our ingredients locally or within the West Country; the local butcher, the dairy five minutes from town, the fruit and ‘veg’ from the family run business down the road and the fresh fish from the enthusiastic specialists in Exeter.  There are no colourants or preservatives added; "E" numbers have no place with us.

We carry no finished product in stock but make to order only.  This gives our customers the maximum "Best Before" date and minimizes wastage.

The end product just has to be seen and tasted.  The most common phrase we hear from the trade and public alike is "real food".  Granny's brilliant cooking may be a bit of a cliché, with her mouth-watering pies, cakes and tarts - just like ours.  Probably she was quietly proud of it, just as we are proud of the real food we still produce by hand.
