Insulated
Beam and Block Flooring
The lightweight alternative to concrete infills saving both time and money on
site with excellent insulation values. Our systems come with BRE and/or KIWA/BBA
approval and meets the requirements of Code Level 6 without the need of laying
an EPS top-sheet
- Only 4 lightweight components with a really simple and quick
installation
- No thermal bridging
- Minimise waste on site
Part L
Building Regulations Flooring
As the pressure increases for homebuilders to continually develop and improve
thermal performance and save CO2 in a fabric first approach, we at Moulded Foams
have developed the GDeck EPS system to offer U values beyond the suggested
values included in Part L revisions for June 2023. Going above and beyond the
required Part L thermal performance of 0.13w/m2K in a floor, using GDeck allows
the house-builder offsets in other areas of the construction that are infinitely
more expensive to improve.
- U values of 0.09 w/m2k
- Offsets in thermal performance in other areas of the house fabric
- Ease of site audits - visible rail location
- BREL reporting and inspections - no need to lift top sheets of EPS
Future
Homes Standards Flooring
In 2025, compliance with the Future Homes Standard (FHS) will become mandatory.
Its aim is to ensure that new homes built from 2025 will produce 75-80% less
carbon emissions than homes built under the current Building Regulations. As a
key part of this fabric-first approach GDeck Insulated flooring system meets U
values as low as 0.09 and can be used as part of the Passive House
envelope and be an important component as we work towards future building
improvements.
Sustainable Flooring Systems
Using GDeck reduces the operational carbon of a building and its dwelling
emission rates (DER). For every 1kg of oil used to make EPS insulation, it will
save the environment from burning 150kg of oil for heating the same building
over its service life of 50 years. Fully recyclable with an with an A+ rating in
the BRE green guide to specification, EPS insulation currently contains a
minimum of 15% post consumer waste (PCW), which by quarter 1 of 2025 will
increase to 100%, further improving its sustainability credentials in our
journey to Net Zero.
Thermal
Beam and Block Floor
Gdeck creates the most efficient, least waste and labour cost flooring option
for today's environmentally conscious builders looking to create an insulated
floor that meets Part L building regulations and the Future Homes Standards
coming in 2025.
Net Zero
Carbon Emissions Flooring
As we travel towards our joint net zero goals, GDeck flooring performs as a
critical element in the housing envelope in reducing carbon and saving energy
costs for the lifetime of the building.
ExpandedPolypropylene Foams (EPP) |
Closed cell EPP foam is commonly used in car bumpers for the purpose of
absorbing energy impacts and saving lives. Beyond this it has now become the
preferred material for both energy absorption as well as thermal insulation for
packaging and food delivery. Offering insulation and sound absorption combined
with its ability to be shape moulded has promoted EPP to become the preferred
material for the production of mechanical ventilation and heat recovery units.
Cellular Foam Packing Solutions |
For all of your cellular foam packaging requirements we are able to provide a
full in house design service as well as fragility testing to ensure your
valuable contents receive superior protection.
