Hane Instruments Ltd is a Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication company that provides fabrication and metal finishing services to a wide range of market sectors including defence, automotive, electronics and medical. Having been originally established in 1973 to provide the growing electronic instrument enclosure industry market, we have now built on our client base and grown into an organisation employing some 30 skilled engineers catering to a wide market sector by providing a complete service of sheet metal fabrication, forming, finishing, CNC punching, shearing, welding, assembly and general sheet metal fabrication. We still continue to serve the enclosure market and manufacture a wide range of sheet metal enclosures from simple electrical boxes, light weight plated computer enclosures and instrument panels right through to large scale rack and junction cabinets which are powder coated and finished with glass doors and associated fixtures.

A large proportion of our regular work involves the forming of both simple and complex bracket arrangements which are produced in a variety of materials including stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium. In relation to our cabinet and enclosure work, Hanes Instruments Ltd also fabricates a large volume of panels for both external and internal use including instrument mounts, machine fronts and decorative applications.

Our fabrication service caters for customers with requirements ranging from one off prototype parts to large scale production runs and can handle parts up to 150 kg. We are also able to offer a light assembly service to our customers and can stock component parts ready to assemble into complete kits for direct delivery to your end user on a kanban basis.

Our Workshop

Hanes Instruments also have a fully equipped welding workshop fitted with MIG, TIG, ARC, SPOT & GAS welding facilities and can handle materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass and mild steel as well as a full brazing and soldering service. Our current production equipment includes CNC punching machinery such as the Amada Europe 245 CNC punch press which has a capacity of 20T and is capable of working on sheet metal thicknesses of up to 5mm with a punch accuracy of plus or minus 0.1mm.

Our Amada Vipros 255 can handle sheet sizes of 2.5 m x 1.25m with material thickness up to 6.4mm and operates at up to 1000 hits per minute. At Hane Instruments we utilise the latest production management software allowing us to handle annual call offs and support JIT and Kanban schemes. This offers both us and the customer the ability to maintain production efficiency and quality with readily available information of all aspects of a job both in real time and on a historic basis.
