In February 2020, the Sudbury-based business will celebrate 40 years in business. Anglia was founded by current chairman Rowland Grindell and has been based at the same purpose-built factory since 1982. The factory has seen many changes over the last 38 years as the company has worked to stay at the forefront of a competitive market.
Anglia supplies high quality labels to a wide and varied clients throughout the UK and beyond in various markets including car care, household, drinks, food, personal care, chemicals, pharmaceutical and many more.
Anglia LabelsÂ’ four decades in business have included a number of major milestones, such as the acquisition of Norwich Labels in 2012 and in 2013 that of Reel Time Labels. Both companies now trade under the Anglia flag and their flexo presses are still in use within the Anglia building.
Anglia Labels was also one of the early pioneers of digital printing over two decades ago, when Mr Grindell recognised the ‘huge potential of this technology’ and purchased his first Indigo press. Anglia Labels also operates Domino inkjet technology. The latest updates to Anglia’s digital presses over the last two years mean that 60% of its turnover is now produced digitally.
Mr Woodhead noted that the acquisition of Norwich Labels and Reel Time Labels, and continued investment in new presses, has assisted in raising Anglia LabelsÂ’ turnover by 41% over the last five years.
‘Our 24 strong team has a wealth of experience in all aspects of label printing and our friendly welcoming customer services team are always delighted to help old and new customers alike,’ commented Mr Woodhead.
‘We look forward to further growth and investment in the near future as Anglia Labels continues to invest in modern machinery and to expand its print capabilities into different markets.’
