Caledon Controls design and manufacture medium
and high power Thyristor stacks and controllers for industrial heating
applications, together with a range of supporting instrumentation, including
load sequencing controllers and single cycle controllers.
Our primary markets are in industrial furnaces and ovens, process heating and
petrochemical applications. Other areas of application are heating and
ventilating, plastics forming, dryers, etc.
Our standard Thyristor stack ranges include models for controlling
straightforward resistive loads, or for transformer coupled and complex loads.
Current ratings are from 63A to 1100A, and there are versions for three phase
loads (with either 2-leg or 3-leg control) or single phase loads.

Control modes available
are:-

Burst fire for
resistive loads.-
Single cycle burst
fire - for fast response resistive loads, silicon carbide loads,
etc.-
Soft start burst fire
- for transformer coupled loads.-
Phase angle - for
transformer coupled loads or where current or voltage limiting
is required.
Our patented single cycle
control algorithm maintains 3-phase load balance when used with
2-leg control. Our load sequencers are suitable for up to 11 stages
of heating in large process heating systems, and offer a wide range
of control strategies.
