Although our activities have been
primarily focused on the business market, we have been successfully developing
our retail business through our website and eBay. In both areas, repeat business
is high, even in the current difficult economic climate, due to our service
levels, competitive pricing and quality products.
Investment continues and we will soon be launching our own high quality but low
cost hand tool to install M4 to M6 rivet nuts in all materials including
stainless steel with the aim of competing directly with the traditional hand
pliers, which has many limitations, drawbacks and quality variations.
Product Range
Hand Tools
MEMFast supplies hand and power tools for
all its fasteners but the star of the show is our own unique Rivet Nut and Stud
Hand Tool, the RNHT07. Coming with a LIFETIME GUARANTEE, it will
install rivet nuts from M3 to M10 (up to M8 in stainless steel) and rivet studs
from M4 to M8 by using easily attached Installation Kits comprising nosepiece
and mandrel for each thread size. This is a properly engineered and highly
robust tool weighing Kg 0.5 and measuring only 14cm x 14cm (excluding
Installation Kit) when fully assembled. It works by “spinning” the rivet nut
rather than by “pulling” it and is therefore much easier to operate. There is no
stroke to set which means that each rivet nut can be perfectly installed. An
additional benefit is its ease of use in limited access applications and for
larger sizes, it only needs a 10mm ratchet spanner located onto the hex end of
the spindle protruding beyond the knurled knob.

Rivet Nuts and Studs
MEMFast supplies rivet nuts in steel,
stainless steel, aluminium and brass in all head styles and body styles from M3
to M16. Access is only required from one side of the panel and they are
therefore ideal for blind hole applications including tube. As the rivet nut is
pulled down with the tool, it initially fills the hole, then collapses to form a
bulge on the blind side of the panel and this bulge captivates the nut in the
hole. It will then provide a high strength re-usable thread onto which parts can
be attached with confidence.

Rivet studs work in the same way as rivet nuts but have a male thread protruding
from the panel onto which parts can be assembled using a standard coarse pitch
hexagon or square nut.

Rubber Nuts
Rubber Nuts work on the same principle as rivet nuts except that no tool is
required to install them. The rubber nut is inserted into the hole in the base
panel, the screw is inserted through the part to be attached and, as the screw
thread engages with the thread in the rubber nut, it starts to pull down. Once
fully pulled down, it provides a strong thread and resistance to vibration and
so is ideal for any application where movement or vibration is an issue.

Threaded Inserts
MEMFast Standard Threaded Inserts are one
piece fasteners threaded both internally and externally, designed to repair
damaged threads and produce new threads in a wide range of components. Tough and
durable due to their substantial wall thickness, they can be used in castings,
gear box assemblies, sump pans and also thinner sections together with
applications in general maintenance, repair and production.
They have excellent shock and vibration resistance and are made from solid bar -
they need no special installation tool, just a standard machine screw. Apply a
good quality stud locking compound, insert into the hole, allow to cure and the
insert is ready to use. Sizes range from M4 to M18 (internal threads) in steel
with some sizes in stainless steel.

MEMFast Self Tapping Threaded Inserts are
one piece fasteners threaded both internally and externally, designed to repair
damaged threads and create new threads in a wide range of components and
materials. Tough and durable due to their substantial wall thickness, their use
can reduce the thread size required due to the insert’s large effective shear
surface. This could save material as well as reduce cost and weight.
They eliminate the need for close tolerance holes required for tapping into the
base material, damaged tools and low productivity - they need no special
installation tool nor the time consuming process associated with installing a
wire thread insert. Holes do not need to be separately tapped as the groove will
cut its own thread so long as the correct diameter tolerances for the material
and the insert are adhered to.

Screw Anchors
The MEMFast Screw Anchor is ideal where
there is access to only one side of the panel and particularly where softer or
more friable materials such as plastics or GRP are used. Each Anchor has a wide
grip range and is very tolerant of imperfect hole size and quality.
As the installation process begins, the sleeve of the Screw Anchor collapses to
form three or four legs, which grip the inside of the panel and provide a
permanent re-usable screw anchor with a large blind side load bearing area.
Sizes available are from M4 to M6 in grip ranges up to 10mm.
