IPF are on the case with the latest in custom 3D printed enclosures and coatings

IPFL News and PR from IPFL - Published 07 May 2021 Enclosures and casings are used everywhere – just look around your desk, room, car or the nearest shop window, and you’ll see for yourself. And recently, something that has been in higher and higher demand is the batch production of enclosures with custom geometries, colours and particularly - special-purpose coatings.
Evolving demand
Special-purpose coatings include coatings offering static dissipative and anti-viral properties, EMC/RFI shielding and specific RAL colours. Although colour 3D printing has been used in the past for projects such as these, it was often too costly and the items too fragile to be completely suitable for end-use production purposes.

Now, however, with the full utilisation of the latest in HP MJF and SLA technologies, as well as machining and fabrication, IPF are producing outstanding and robust enclosures with superb finishes and high material performance.

As a company, IPF have long been known for producing custom fabrications, components, housings and enclosures. And now, the diversity of their current arsenal and the expertise and adaptability of their team has further secured their position as a best-of-British, high-quality production facility.

The range of products from both their fabrication centre and 3D studio is impressive: in any one day the teams can be working on components and casings for anything from machine controllers to hi-fi housings, and from brain scanners to anemometers. Accordingly, the range of materials being used is extensive. Having built large enclosures, large enough to encase a Nissan 4×4, and small ones – for the most compact Raspberry Pi setup – the team’s knowledge base for application requirements, design necessities and sheer manufacturability is unrivalled.

IPF can offer you bespoke batches with 3D printing, incorporating:

- Versatile production facilities
- Design and production guidance
- Custom coatings including EMC/RFI shielding, RAL matching, static dissipation and anti-viral
- High-performance materials
- Custom geometries

Along with a versatile range of technologies, IPFÂ’s 52-year heritage in plastic fabrications proves they have a pedigree within UK manufacturing which encompasses consistent R&D, investment and training. Now is the best time ever to be exploring the extensive production capabilities of IPF Ltd.
