Established in 2008, Elite Precast Concrete was the brainchild of Richard Doody and Alan Johnson, who collectively used their 40 years combined experience to produce the company that thrives in business today.
In its 5th year of business, Elite Precast Concrete now employs over 40 staff, and enjoys a multi-million pound annual turnover, which is testament to the teamÂ’s fresh approach to developing new product ranges, which includes its innovative Interlocking Blocks.

Now the UK’s market leader in manufacturing and supplying interlocking precast concrete blocks, the firm’s products are used by a diverse range of clients including local authorities, recycling businesses, and waste management firms, to install durable storage bays that hold waste. The blocks are also an increasingly attractive solution for industries such as outdoor hospitality, transport, and construction, where they are utilised as kentledge – a form of temporary counterweight – to hold scaffolding, security fencing, and even marquees in place.

Unlike the majority of the wider precast concrete industry which has struggled with the concept of incorporating ‘recycled aggregates’ whilst maintaining high strength end products, Elite have pioneered the use of locally sourced ‘secondary aggregates’. These are typically bi-products of the quarrying process that have tended to be difficult to sell and have ended up as huge stockpiles, often remaining as highly visible waste mounds for many years. This is a truly sustainable source of material and due to its consistent quality; it is being used to create high strength (50N/mm2) concrete that will last 120 years and can be fully recycled at the end of its life
