Advanced Technology Bolsters Capabilities

NTG Precision Engineers News and PR from NTG Precision Engineers - Published 21 October 2025 NTG is pleased to announce the addition of two state-of-the-art machines to its in-house operations: the Studer Favorit Cylindrical Grinder and the Markforged Mark Two 3D Printer.
By bolstering its traditional machining capacity and advanced additive manufacturing capabilities, NTG is now even better positioned to offer its customers greater flexibility, reduced lead times, and engineered solutions that meet the most demanding technical requirements.
These machines allow the company to strengthen both sides of its operation: high-precision machining for established production methods, and advanced composite 3D printing for rapid prototyping and functional, end-use components.

Together, they reflect NTG’s ongoing drive to integrate the most advanced technology into its processes to ensure precision, repeatability, and efficiency across every project.

Studer Favorit Cylindrical Grinder
The Favorit is a CNC universal cylindrical grinding machine designed for both individual and batch production, handling short to long-sized workpieces with ease. With a distance between centres of 1,600mm (63”), a centre height of 175mm (6.9”), and a maximum workpiece weight of 150kg (330lbs), the machine broadens our production scope.

Built on the Granitan® S103 mineral-casting base, the machine offers exceptional stability and offsets short-term temperature fluctuations for consistently accurate results.

Key technical highlights include:
Max spindle power: 11.5 kW
Max revolutions: 3,200/min
Max travel speed (X-axis): 15,000 mm/min
Max travel speed (Z-axis): 20,000 mm/min

Markforged Mark Two 3D Printer

The Markforged Mark Two 3D Printer allows NTG to produce parts with aluminium-level strength directly from CAD data, cutting lead times and increasing design flexibility. By combining Onyx base material with continuous fibre reinforcement – including carbon fibre, fibreglass, HSHT fibreglass, and Kevlar – the company can manufacture highly durable components suited to demanding conditions.

With the ability to integrate reinforcement during builds, the Mark Two makes it possible to create functional prototypes, production tooling, and low-volume end-use parts that perform under real-world loads.
This capability strengthens NTG’s support for clients by providing faster turnaround and engineered solutions that bridge the gap between prototype and production.

A Commitment to Innovation
The addition of these state-of-the-art machines reflects NTG’s commitment to combining precision, flexibility, and efficiency. By investing in the latest technology, the company ensures that customers continue to benefit from world-class machining solutions backed by advanced capability and expertise.
