Making life easy with utility protection markers

Elite Precast Concrete Ltd - Data Centre Infrastructure News and PR from Elite Precast Concrete Ltd - Data Centre Infrastructure - Published 01 July 2024 The need to mark areas are risk is obvious and should be part of the safe system of working for every job and implemented before starting a project.
Whilst we believe in keeping fencing areas safe and secure, by offering a range of ballast Kentledge blocks that are designed to secure fencing, making it easier for you to protect your site, we also believe in answering the need for service protection locators.

With fencing contractorsÂ’ needing to complete a risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) report to address the risk of buried utilities, the need to mark these areas is obvious and should be part of the safe system of working for every job and implemented before starting a project.

Keeping this in mind, we introduced precast concrete cable protection covers, indicator posts and marker blocks to make locating subterranean utilities and infrastructure simpler and therefore reducing the risk of service strikes, which can be both dangerous and costly.

These visual locators make life easier for all involved, including land and asset owners (gas, water, electricity, telecoms etc.) as well as local users, such as residents, farmers or commercial premise tenants and mitigates the risk of costly time delays and damage to the surrounding area.

If you know these cables and pipelines are already buried on your land and you want to add service protection markers, a CAT scan (cable avoidance tool scan) can be used over the area, to locate these and markers added afterwards.

As well as protecting installed utility products, our heavyweight concrete blocks can be used to secured field and land boundaries reducing the risk of unwanted visitors, making it easier for you to secure your site with the added stability the concrete blocks bring.
