over 45 years of experience in sub-contract heat treatment services and has now
gained an impressive reputation for providing its customers with a range of

We offer a range of services to meet the exact needs of our customers including
Annealing, Normalising, Heat Treatment
Stress Relieving, Hardening, Procurements, Tempering and
Special Processes at our customers’ requests.
We provide our services to a broad spectrum of industrial sectors some of which
include Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Marine, Defence, Food Processing,
Power Generation and Agriculture.
Our 25,000 sq. ft heat treatment plant is now one of the largest privately owned
facilities in the UK capable of providing a range of consistent high quality
services including:
Thermal
Stress Relieving
Thermofax provides heat treatment services to include the thermal stress relieving of
large components and materials to reduce the internal stresses without substantially modifying their
internal structure.
These include post weld stress relieving to procedure including: ASME VIII, ASME
IX, BS31.1, BS31.3, and PD5500:2009, stabilizing treatments and profile or
manipulation stress relief.
Annealing
We provide a range of specific Annealing services for our customers including
Full Annealing, Inter Critical Annealing, Isothermal Annealing, Solution
Annealing, Spherodize Annealing and Sub Critical Annealing.
Normalising
Heat treatment consisting of austenetizing followed by air cooling to materials
including Carbon and Alloy Steels, Petrochemical Grades and Power Generation
Grades.
Hardening
Our Hardening Services
include precipitation hardening, solution treatment and ageing for batch sizes
up to 2 tonnes and lengths of up to 2.7m.
Tempering
Thermofax also provides a Tempering Service for materials and products such as
springs and fasteners for batch sizes of up to 10 tonnes and lengths of up to
7.4m.
Special Processing
These services include curing, creep flattening, refractory dry out, oxidisation

Procurement
If by any chance Thermofax cannot provide you with the service you require they
will always offer an alternative supplier within the heat treatment community.
We also offer a number of outsourced services such as flattening, shot blasting,
sawing, laboratory testing, straightening and reeling, steel sourcing and
chemical cleaning and pickling.
Quality
Thermofax is proud of the quality of service it offers to its customers and have
a continued approval to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 the certificate of which can be
viewed on its website.

Due to the size of our furnaces we can handle single items up to 6.5 metres in
diameter and 16 tonnes in weight and accessibility and access to the site and
facility has been designed to accommodate abnormal and oversized loads with the
major road being dual carriageway. We can also treat batches of anything from 1
kilo to 30 tonnes offering flexibility and competitive pricing.
