I have found the Poly Casp FAM-VAD-FMK kit (Cell Technology) from Stratch very useful as an assay for Caspase activity in the analysis of apoptosis. The product is quick and easy to use and readily detectable using fluorescence channels set up for FITC detection.

For single molecule work, we find an essentially zero background on a TIRF microscope, as well as a high efficiency for binding protein. Hi Pete, I just started culturing the midbrain cells yesterday after stored at 4oC for one week. They look good. I believe these cells will do well and be useful for our assay. The hippocamppal cultures generated from the replacement order have been successfully used for our assays.
