Safer Safety

Safer Safety Ltd was formed in 1985 they invented the world's first metal detectable earplug - “Detectaplug” - for use in the food industry. We were granted a patent for this invention and started production in Chesterfield, appointing nationwide distributors as the products became accepted. Our customer base soon expanded to include the likes of Mars Foods, Trebor Bassett, Cadbury, H J Heinz, Hazlewood Foods, Christian Salvessen, Nestle, Birds Eye Walls, McCain Foods, Kellogg & many more. Within two years the company moved to larger retail premises & took on extra staff to cope with demand. The company also started selling other items of safety equipment such as footwear & clothing.
