Parylene (sometimes known as paralene) is considered by many to be the ultimate conformal coating for the protection of circuit boards, components and surfaces. Parylene is applied by a vapour process, coatings are truly conformal, of uniform thickness and pinhole-free. Parylene has excellent barrier properties, is unaffected by solvents, is hydrophobic and biocompatible, and has a low coefficient of friction.
