(the home of steel), we are leading stainless steel processors, stockholders and
experts in LaserJet cutting, waterjet cutting, plasma cutting and much more.
We have over 6000 tonnes of European origin stainless steel stock, ready to
produce customers parts exactly when and how they need them. Our purpose built
factory is fully equipped with a suite of LaserJet cutting machines, fibre laser
machines, waterjet cutting machines and hi-def plasma machines.

LaserJet Cutting
In 2014 Steel Dynamics were the very first business in the UK to have a fibre
laser cutting machine for steel processing. 10 years later and we have become
the UK's largest stainless steel processor capable of cutting materials to an
impressive size of 8m x 2.5m, thanks to our 4 LaserJet cutting machines. We have
the capability to cut oversized sheets with unparalleled consistency and
accuracy due to the expansive cutting area.
LaserJet cutting has the ability to achieve incredible precision, the laser beam
is highly focused with tolerances as tight as 0.05mm achievable. Some of the
benefits include exceptional cutting speeds, smooth and clean cuts (on even the
most complex and intricate shapes), and the highest level of precision with
minimal material wastage.
Plasma Cutting
Our HD plasma cutting machine is combined with an Oxy fuel head to offer
unparalleled precision, versatility and precision when working with stainless
steel and other materials. Oxy fuel cutting enables us to cut thicker steel
parts of up to 150mm thickness, combine this with our work area of up to 9m x 3m
and the possibilities are endless.
High definition plasma cutting is generally a more affordable option compared to
waterjet cutting and LaserJet cutting, especially for thick and medium metals.
When versatility in material thickness and high volume production is required,
HD plasma cutting is the best option.
Waterjet Cutting
When it comes to processing stainless steel, waterjet cutting is proven to be
one of the most effective methods, it offers versatility, unmatched precision
and material efficiency. Steel Dynamics are home to a 14m x 4m waterjet cutting
machine, which is the largest in the UK. Waterjet cutting can be carried out on
stainless steel grades up to 200mm in thickness.
The main advantage of waterjet cutting over the other methods is the fact that
it is a cold cutting process. When working with stainless steel this is crucial
to preserve its finish and mechanical properties. Waterjet cutting is also idea
for intricate or complex design with tolerances possible as tight as ±0.1mm.
Saw Cutting
Whether you need to cut large stainless steel processing bars or plates, saw
cutting technology provides high accuracy, repeatability and ensures minimal
waste. Our plate saws have been designed for the economic cutting of all small
to large sized plates and blocks. Saw cutting is excellent when working with
large bars or plates to produce parts that meet exact specifications without
requiring a lot of post-processing.

Our stock is extensive, boasting over 6000 tonnes of Stainless Steel in
thicknesses from 0.5mm – 150mm and various grades. All of the plate materials we
stock come with full mill test certificates, traceability reports and are fully
certified.
