We constantly strive to be the market leader in laser cutting, milling, punching
and everything steel related with continual investment in software, plant and
people for our 40,000 sq ft facility. In the past few years alone we have
invested approx �1 million in our second 6 metre press brake and new 6 metre
fibre laser. Not to mention our new additions of VM30i & VM20i milling machines
for the machining of components.

One of our specialist areas is laser cutting.
Laser cutting is a highly
efficient and extremely accurate method of cutting aluminium, mild steel,
stainless steel and pre-galvanised steel. Most laser cutting companies only have
the capabilities to cut up to 4 meters in length, Blagg & Johnson Ltd have the
capabilities to provide up to 6 meter long laser cutting, making us one of the
most advanced metal laser cutting companies in the UK.
We can develop varying complexities of jobs using or 3D and 2D programming
software.
Our laser cutting machinery consist of a 4000 x 2000 x 5kw Trumpf and a 6000 x
2000 x 6kw LVD Phoenix, these machines provide the following laser cutting
capabilities:
- Accuracy 0.2mm
- Cutting Stainless Steel (up to 20mm thick)
- Cutting Mild Steel (up to 25mm thick)
- Cutting Aluminium (up to 30mm thick)
- Metal laser cutting up to 6 meters in length
- CAD / CAM (supporting both 2D and 3D file formats)
- Undertaking of All Types of Work (large or small batch)

Blagg & Johnson provide a wide range of metal engineering services,
predominantly working with steel, our services are also available for aluminium.
Milling
We are able to produce high quality machined components via our VM30i & VM20i 3
axis milling machines. Our machines provide a table working surface of 1300 x
508mm and incorporate CAD/CAM programming facilities.
Turret Punching
Turret punching has the capabilities to punch holes in seconds with a high
degree of accuracy. Our 45 station Amada turret punch can punch mild steel up to
5mm thick, stainless steel up to 3mm thick and aluminium up to 5mm thick.
Press Braking
Blagg & Johnson are able to produce a wide variety of pressed sections, we have
one of the largest ranges of press brake machines in the UK. Our
press braking
capabilities range from 3000mm x 100 tonne up to 8000mm x 800 tonne.
Cold Rolled Forming
We have unrivalled experience in cold rolled forming and are the UK's leading
manufacturer of forming profiles in large quantities. Profiles can be produced
with a maximum strip width of 400mm x 5mm thick and a maximum length of 15800mm.
Robotic Welding
Migatronic recently supplied us with two UR10 E robotic welders enabling us to
perform effective and precise welding tasks with a repetitive accuracy of 0.1mm
and a reach of 6000 x 1200mm or 3500 x 2400mm.
Punched Decking
When it comes to punched decking, Blagg & Johnson have been manufacturing it for
over 15 years, we offer competitive prices with tight lead times and outstanding
quality. All punched decking is manufactured in house and can be manufactured in
the following materials: Stainless Steel 1 - 6mm, Mild Steel 1 - 5mm or
Aluminium 1 - 6mm.
Sawing
One of our newest acquisitions is a CNC Band Saw that enables us to cut rolled
steel to size. Whether it's cutting our material to length for a larger
fabrication or cutting your free issue materials, sawing has given Blagg &
Johnson a new dimension.
Fabrication
Setting us apart from the competition is our highly skilled time served
fabricators. Our in-house preparation and processing service enables us to meet
tight production lead times and gives us great control over quality. Typical
fabrications we product include; lifting platform booms, excavator buckets,
railway rolling stock components, road transport body parts and much more.
Individual fabrications can be up to a maximum of 6 tonne.
Programming
If you need to produce drawings but do not have the capabilities Blagg & Johnson
can accept a sketch and re-draw it for you. For 2D drawings we utilize Lantek
and for 3D modelling we utilize Solidworks.
